Old Business Discussed:
- TBA Fall Mini-Conference for the North Middle Region was Saturday, October 8. Jenny Lamb, Jamie Irons, and Tim Lankford manned the WCBA table. They were thanked for their time in planning and setting it up. WCBA had 9 members in attendance.
- The Short Course was October 24-26 (Monday-Wednesday). We had 23 new members in attendance. Carey thanked the mentors that came to help: Philip Chapman, Allen & Jennifer Ferguson, Jamie Irons, Tim Lankford, Dale McCleskey, Mike Miller, Al & Lou Taylor, David Sells, Leonard Walker, and Petra
- We had several members attend the Fair Appreciation Dinner and all had a good time.
.
New Business Discussed:
- TBA board meeting was Saturday, October 29 and Jenny Lamb had the report. One of the major topics was changing the by-laws for one year to reflect that the incoming officers only need to be a TBA member for one year instead of the current two years. All TBA members would have received a ballot by email this past week and Tim Lankford encouraged all to vote, as he is running for Executive Vice President responsible for planning the fall conference.
- Bees for sale: Al & Lout Taylor will have nucs and packages and Sterling Earhart and Leonard Walker will have nucs. Check with them for pricing and details.
- Petra discussed the Christmas Dinner: Dinner is Monday, December 5 at 7:00 pm. RSVP is Saturday December 3. Association is providing the ham and turkey (with volunteers Dale McCleskey and Freddie Stroupe making turkeys) and the drinks. Each family is asked to bring a covered dish AND a dessert. We will once again be playing Dirty Santa so wrap your $10.00 gifts and come play. We always have a good time.
- We will be raffling off two items at the Christmas Dinner…an Oxalic Vaporizer and a Bee Jacket. The cost is $1.00 per ticket with proceeds going to our charity.
- Ballots were handed out to select this year’s charity. The largest vote will be the charity for Christmas and the runner up will be for the June picnic.
- Election of officers for 2023…a motion was made by Jennifer that we keep officers the same as 2022 with two seats open for Alternate Directors:
President—Carey Mitchell
Vice President—Leonard Walker
Secretary/Treasurer—Petra Mitchell
TBA Directors: Jessica Dodds, Jenny Lamb, Jamie Irons
Alternate Directors: Chuck Benson and newly elected Philip Chapman and Laurie Karr
Before Leonard gave his monthly to-do list, he thanked Carey for all of his help with the Short Course.
