Meeting Minutes – Monday, 6 June 2022
Wilson County Beekeepers Association President Carey Mitchell welcomed 60 members and guests to the annual picnic on June 6, 2022 at the Ward Ag Center. No business was conducted.
Members were asked to sign in at the table which will be used later in the evening for door prizes.
There were envelopes at each table (one for Carry the Load and one for Hives for Heroes). Anyone wishing to make a monetary donation can do so.
A special thanks was given to Sterling for his continued efforts for Field Day.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said, and Mark Anderson gave the invocation.
Attendees brought a wonderful assortment of side dishes and desserts and no one went home hungry. If you did, that was on you.
No New Beekeeper Scholarships were handed out this year, as we didn’t have a short course in 2020. Thank you Covid!!
Total amount collected for the two charities was $1,007.00, with $536.00 for Hives for Heroes, and $471.00 for Carry the Load. What a generous group we have!!!!
Door prizes this year were hive tools, lighters, flower picks, small Vitex plants (donated by Trish Davis), large Vitex plants (donated by the Mitchells) and lantana plants.
The Fair schedule will be emailed next week for those willing to take on a shift or three. Waiting for a confirmation on Monday’s time.
Our next meeting is scheduled for July 11 with John Benham who will be discussing The Threshold of Healthy Spring Bees.
Adjournment was around 8:30. Thanks to those that helped clean up.
The Club’s current checkbook balance is $_______________
