Old Business Discussed:

  • Petra collected dues…$10.00 WCBA and $20.00 TBA. IF you already paid your dues, be sure to stop and pick up this year’s membership book
  • The Refresher Course was this past Saturday, February 20 with 24 in attendance.
  • Still working on the Warm List…See Petra if you need to make any changes (additions/deletions). This is for paid WCBA members only.
  • New catalogs are coming in weekly…check the closet.
    .

New Business Discussed:

  • Mike Studer had posted a watering tip: ‘Make sure you have both a fresh water source and a mineral water source for your bees.  For the mineral water source…get a kiddy pool, place four cement blocks (holes up) and a fifty pound trace mineral block in the pool and fill it with water.  You should do this as soon as possible so the bees will find it.  This way if they have a saltwater pool, the bees will leave the neighbor’s pool alone.  You will probably need to add a new trace mineral block at least once a year.’
    .

Leonard’s Monthly To-Do

  • Check to see if your bees are alive. Later in the month, you may want to rotate your boxes, but don’t split the brood.
  • If you are treating for mites, this is the perfect time to start. Be sure to read all instructions and follow them accordingly.
  • Feed if you need to.  March and April can be harsh on the bees.
