Old Business Discussed:
- New short-sleeve t-shirts are in… white and bright blue… all shirts, regardless of size (or sleeve style) are $10.00 each.
.
New Business Discussed:
- TBA Fall Conference has been cancelled
- WCBA has a new newsletter editor, Sarah Poss, who will be starting to work on this next issue under the guidance of Marla Welsh, who has done a fantastic job over the years.
.
Monthly To-Do per Carey due to Jessica’s absence
- If you are feeding, make sure you are not overfeeding. There is still a fall flow to get them set for winter. If feeding be sure that you have an entrance reducer on, and if you have supers on, you shouldn’t be feeding
- Add entrance reducers to small colonies
- Make sure you have sufficient space for them to store honey…queen needs room to lay
- Check for hive beetle larvae in your pollen patties (if using). If the patties are sitting directly on the top bars, there is a good place for them to lay eggs. Be sure to raise the patties with something small, like popsicle sticks
- Be sure to read or watch webinars
.
What’s Blooming at our house:
- Clover
- Magnolias
- Vitex
- Catnip
- Crepe Myrtle
Blooming Soon:
- Seven Sons
- Goldenrod
.
Program: Karin Gray, Cookeville Beekeepers President from Sequatchie County had a wonderful program on propolis… what it is, where to get it, how to use it.
.
Announcements:
- September 14—is the next scheduled meeting. Kent Williams is on the roster, but it might not be logical to have him come the three hours for 20 attendees. We will check into this and post at a later date about the meeting’s topic.
The meeting adjourned at 8:05 pm.
The Club’s current checkbook balance is $xxx
