Meeting Minutes – Monday, 6 January 2020
Wilson County Beekeepers’ President Carey Mitchell called the first meeting of 2020 (January 6) to order at the Ward Ag Center with 59 members and guests in attendance. Minutes from the December 2019 meeting were approved as posted in the past newsletter. The reported checkbook balance is $_________
Old Business Discussed:
- There are still some ordered t-shirts that haven’t been picked up. If you haven’t gotten yours, please stop by and pay for your order.
New Business Discussed:
- Dues are due. New membership books are in. If you attended the Short Course in October, your 2020 dues were included in your registration fee.
- Our own Sterling Earhart will be doing a program at NABA on Sunday, January 12.
- NABA’s Advanced Beekeepers Class is being held at Belmont University on Saturday, January 18 at 8:00 am. Geoff Williams and Clarence Collison are the scheduled speakers. Registration information is available at nashbee.org
Jessica’s Monthly To Do’s: (In Jessica’s absence, Carey mentioned:)
- With the fluctuation of Tennessee Winter/Spring weather, when you have a warm day, be sure to go into the hive and see that there is food around the cluster. You can also emergency feed with candy canes or mountain camp…but be sure it is on top of the frames and not the inner cover
- Read, Read, Read!!! We have plenty of books in the library, or dvd’s if you don’t want to read.

- Maples are on the verge (and may be blooming at your house)
- Hellebores—Lenten Rose (Greg Tomerlin had a great picture of 9 bees on one plant)
- Dandelion
