Meeting Minutes – 2 December 2013

Carey Mitchell welcomed 97 members and guests to the annual Christmas dinner on December 2, 2013.  Attendees were asked to sign in on the sheets on each table to be used later in the evening for door prizes.

The only piece of business discussed was the request of approval for the November minutes.  We will hear from the t-shirt committee in January, with Peter Klaes chairing the committee.

The new Slate of Officers for 2014 was introduced:

President, Carey Mitchell
Vice President, Fred Dawson
Secretary/Treasurer, Petra Mitchell
Directors, Fred Dawson, Carey Mitchell, Candice Thompson
Alternate Directors, Sue Dickhaus, Herb Lester, David Thompson

The new Editor of the newsletter is Greg Tomerlin with thanks going to Caryn Crowston for her years as past Editor, and Kelcie Meador is the librarian.

Our next meeting is January 6 where dues will be due… membership books are printed.  Trevor Qualls from Bon Aqua Springs Apiaries will be doing a program on Natural Beekeeping.  You can order supplies from him and he will gladly bring them to the meeting.  (check out his website  www.basprings.com)

Carey asked attendees to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance and WT Nolen gave the blessing.

A most bountiful feast was enjoyed by all.  If you went home hungry, that was your own fault.

Fred Dawson collected a total of $1,011.00 donations for the Wounded Warrior Project from a most generous group.  He also reported his To-Do’s for December:  Kiss the Queen, Don’t throw out the Drones, and Read, Read, Read

The last portion of the evening was the giving away of the door prizes and everyone went home with something.
