Meeting Minutes – January 2012
January 2nd brought 64 members and guests to the Ward Ag Center for the first meeting of the 2012 Wilson County Beekeepers Assn. President Carey Mitchell called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone.
The minutes from the December 2011 meeting were approved.
It is now time to pay dues and each paid member will receive a yellow covered (color of this year’s queen marking) membership book that is dedicated to the drone.
Carey again thanked those who helped collect the $300.00 for the Christmas charity, Partners for Patriots.
Also, we were reminded that the Short Course is scheduled for January 17-19 with a deadline for registration of January 13.
Our new librarian, Sue Dickhaus was introduced and appeared eager to get started. Also, several new books and DVDs were added to the library.
Remember, Hayes Wilson will be bringing back bees from Wilbanks around the 6th of April, weather permitting. Anyone interested is to contact him direct at 931-445-3730 with a $15 non-refundable deposit due at order and the balance due by March 24th. The total cost is $78.
Carey asked the T-Shirt committee what the plans were for this year, and Melissa and Roy Everidge voiced that they would be on the committee, but not heading the committee. Therefore, discussion was tabled for the February meeting in order to get a committee together.
