Meeting Minutes – Monday, 2 December 2024
Wilson County Beekeepers President, Carey Mitchell, welcomed 52 members and guests to the annual Christmas Dinner on Monday, December 2, 2024. As this was a pleasure meeting, no business was conducted. Attendees were asked to sign in at each table to play Dirty Santa after dinner. Donation envelops for The Bridge House were available for anyone wanting to contribute.
Carey asked all to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance and Dale McCleskey gave the invocation. Carey thanked Dale McCleskey and Freddie Stroupe for making the turkeys.
For those that were participating, folks were asked to pick up a wrapped gift while filling plates from the bountiful tables of fabulous food. No one should go home hungry.
Carey introduced John Widrick from The Bridge House who gave an overview of what his organization is all about…helping those in the foster care system.
After bellies were full, Carey introduced the 2025 officers:

A good time was had by all that played Dirty Santa. Numbers were drawn for the poinsettias that decorated the tables.
Dennis Davis was the winner of both the jeweled pin and the display case that were raffled off.
A total of $973.00 was collected for The Bridge House…what a generous group.
A reminder was made that the next meeting is Monday, January 6 at 7:00 pm with Sterling Earhart doing a program on resource hives. Dues will be due and new membership books will be available.
Festivities ended around 8:30 with a Merry Christmas wish to one and all!
Our end-of-the-year balance in the checkbook is $
